I was already sad about bee colony collapse and then they came 1 by 1 in my office. Some I freed, some died.
I kept asking why they were coming in and I still have no clue how they got in!
Beautiful bees symbolize hard work, love, creativity, fertility, golden rewards, sweetness of honey, flowers, community...oh, we could go on and on. This one, in it's final sleep, looked like a gentleman asking for a dance.
Bee colonies are collapsing and dying due to the pesticides farmers and even home gardeners use. They are our wake-up call to stop poisoning our Earth and ourselves.
Whether this is the bee's last dance or, symbolically, we honor our creation the Earth and continue to save the bees is the question behind, "May we Dance?"
The bees inspired this drawing, I did it in homage, drawing in that mysterious place that knows the larger picture. As another sign, the founder of Burt's Bees passed away the day I posted this image on Instagram!
