hand maidens

A meal. A hug. A note. A gift. A nap. A clap. A wave.
To inspire you, this series was originally made to show hand-made clothing and designs from my studio as worn by famous goddesses from around the world. hand maidens. is inspired by Legendary Magical Beings, from Pocahontas to Black Madonnas, the real creative muses of the world.
These hand maidens. and gals from my street style sketchbook. collection first appeared in public in a blog post, here, on the futurists of design seen at the design shows of Spring 2015.

As for this bird, she happily seeks nests where she can peck about peacefully. Hang her where this sweet industrious hen can inspire you. My favorite symbolist, Avia Venefica, says that Mother Hens "are diligent in seeing to the needs of their newborns. Furthermore, they are excellent teachers to their offspring. They give their little ones everything they need to know to survive. Then, quite suddenly, the mother hen completely disassociates with the chicks. This back-turning to their young is essential for the survival of these chicks."
How vast and full of goddess-love is this?

Decor Tips: I also imagine the illustrations in the hand maidens. series hanging as a collection in a child or teen bedroom, inspiring the wee ones to delve into the myths of gods and goddesses from around the world. The richness and love of our planet found there is endlessly inspiring!
